Perfection Paralysis

The Bliss Betwen

Perfection paralysis.

Do you know the feeling? That, overwhelmed/ oh my gosh/ deer in the headlights feeling when you think about starting a big project? That feeling of, “it has to be perfect, or I can’t even try.” Do you know the feeling I’m talking about? Have you been there?

Because I have totally been in “perfection paralysis” mode regarding my blog lately. It’s why you’ve seen such little content from me lately. And then I realized it’s been over a MONTH since my last post. What?! My mind started giving me little alarms: “Erin Michelle Short, you can not keep calling yourself a blogger if you don’t ACTUALLY BLOG!”

And where better to jump back in, than the subject that’s kept me away?

Perfection Paralysis

But enough about me. Let’s talk about you.

Pause with me a minute here… is there a place in your life right now that you’re feeling perfection paralysis? Have you been putting anything off because you tell yourself that you don’t have enough time to make it right? Or perhaps you’re hesitating because you just aren’t sure where the right place to start is?

Here’s my advice to you.

Just do it.

Seriously. Get over it and just do it.

Reality Check

I had to give myself a serious reality check, and remind myself that my blog posts don’t need to be perfect. In fact, they probably shouldn’t be, because that isn’t real life.

But back to you, because you’re why I’m here. Bring back to mind that thing, that project, that idea, that whatever that’s been giving you perfection paralysis. Filter out the noise and let’s get really real here. If you’re afraid to start, because you want it to be perfect and you’re afraid of it not being perfect… well dear, it’s time to get over that. Just do it. Just start. The rest will come.

Let’s Team Up

Tell me in the comments about your perfection paralysis. Or send me an email. I’d love to hear where you’re feeling stuck and help you work your way out. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?! (#sorrynotsorry)

Sending you all the good vibes. xo Erin

Sometimes I have to force myself through the paralysis. It’s not easy. I know perfection isn’t good for me so I’m trying to break this way of thinking.

It’s hard to not want to put out great content but that doesn’t mean that real content isn’t great! Keep it up and keep writing

I was just talking to someone about this very subject yesterday. We have this desire for all to be perfect and end up doing nothing at all. It is quite limiting.

Limiting is such a great word to describe it. Thank you for that!
